One question I get asked the most by local people in the Tacoma area is, “What’s a good place to have a kids party in Tacoma?” There are lots more options out there besides Chucke Cheese and at reasonable prices too! Deciding on an actual place to have a kids party is probably the most difficult part of party planning. Choosing the right place can save you money if you find an option that includes food or has options for activities. So here is a list of 5 of my favorite places to have a kids party in Tacoma! I will update this list again towards the winter time. If you are local to the area and have some ideas feel free to drop them in the comments for others to check out!
The star center is a beautiful facility that has many different options for kids parties! They even offer specially designed packages that include a theme and activities so you don’t have to worry about anything but the food! Every party package comes with use of their indoor treetops playground area which is always fun. We had Aaliyahs first birthday there in one of the medium sized rooms and it was perfect as the, “Glass Slipper Ballroom” for her Princess themed party.
Prices range depending on dates and times. Weekdays are cheaper.
Wiggle works is actually in Puyallup but, its still very close and an excellent option for a kids party in the Tacoma area because pretty much everything is taken care of here except for the cake. Party room rentals include admission for up to 16 (kids) guest, unlimited playtime, balloons to fit your theme colors, paper products and also the option to have pizza. For Aaliyah’s 2nd birthday party we chose wiggle works and I was very happy with the turn out. Ive been taking her here since she was able to crawl this place is so much fun!
Just bring drinks, cake and party favors and you are set!
Its officially Summer and to be totally honest, if I could have every single summer party here I would! If you are looking for a place to have a kids party in Tacoma, I love this place and have done a few parties here already including, the rubber duck themed party I posted about a few weeks ago. Its a lot cheaper than you think it is and renting the big cabana is definitely a good idea! It includes tables and lounge chairs.
4)Party In The Park
Having a party in a park is pretty much the best idea on the planet because, this space is absolutely FREE! My only suggestion for partying in a park is definitely scope out your area early so you can get the benches/tables you want if you aren’t bringing your own. Metro Parks in Tacoma has many beautifully landscaped options including free spray parks that are now officially open! I did a superhero themed party at Wrights Park and the kids had a lot of fun running around and playing.
There is a basketball court, jungle gym and also a new spray ground.
Im a huge fan of having parties at home! It just leaves room for very little error and there is nobody rushing you out the door because, you are close to your rental time being over. For picture purposes you cant lose at home. 9/10 the lighting at home is going to be way better than any venue unless it is outside so, your pictures to save for your memories will always be better. Its also way more relaxing than loading up your car and driving to a location. The only rules to parties at home is up to you! The hard part about throwing an at home party is probably going to be trying to keep the kiddos entertained. Check out my Pinterest board for fun game ideas.
