You all may think I am crazy for already beginning the planning for my Halloween party in July but, all my friends and family know that Halloween is my FAVORITE holiday ever! Its an even bigger deal than my birthday! I don’t know what it is about Halloween. Growing up we didn’t do the costume thing or trick or treating but, my grandma always threw a “harvest party” on Halloween night and we always had so much fun. Now that Im an adult I go all out!
We are 104 days (11hrs & 55mins as I type this lol), I am so excited! It will be the first year that Aaliyah will be able to join in on the fun and kinda understand whats going on. So, I am going to do a classic themed kids party this year. Last years party was a bit different! We had a fun Halloween party for the adults and had so much fun! I aimed to make this house THAT house in my neighborhood. I wish I had more images of the actual outside decorations. Complete with life sized chicken wire ghost, whispering voices and fog so thick some people didn’t even make it down the driveway. When all you hear is screams all night down your driveway, I would say that is a mission accomplished!
My costume was pretty awesome! I was the bride of frankenstein and took a regular “beehive’ wig and spray painted it to get the hair right. I had a professional makeup kit from Mehron it definitely is a must have for this costume.
My bestie was the actual mastermind behind this entire party I was just there to help execute the ideas. It turned out to be an amazing halloween dinner party. We had a cajun food theme and I made a giant pot of gumbo.
Table place settings created with the cricut explore
These centerpieces were pretty easy to DIY the are a candle stick holder and bowl from the $1 store glued together and spray painted. The flowers were also spray painted purple. I love the way they turned out!
Normally these spooky eyes are done with toilet paper rolls, I used rolled cardstock instead and cut the eyes out using my cricut explore and put a glow stick inside to light them up.
All the guest came dressed up. I was so happy that no one decided to be a party pooper and come not dressed!
I seriously cant wait to have fun with all the kids at this years Halloween party! Check out my Halloween pinterest board for more DIY Halloween ideas!
